From WordPress to a real dating app

The starting point

Loventy existed as a WordPress site (Elementor) that was effectively unusable as a dating product: a generic template with profile search and listing, no swipe, no matching engine and no chat. The brand and the idea were there, but not the product.

Approach & solution

A rebuild from scratch, not an adaptation on top of WordPress. We started from a warm, refined design direction (Warm Romantic) and built the product on a modern stack, focused on speed, security and the simplicity of every step, on mobile and desktop.

The three pillars: a swipe feature, a matching engine (a mutual like becomes a match, automatically opening the conversation) and real-time chat (instant messages, typing indicator, read receipts, online status, notifications and a new-message banner). Around them, a complete product: sign-up with email, Google and Facebook; step-by-step profile setup (photos, about you, what you are looking for); profile view and filters; live location (GPS) with the exact location protected, plus discovery by city and distance; safety and moderation (block, report, suspend, stripping location data from photos); full GDPR privacy (export and delete your account from the app, legal pages, data in the EU); branded emails (welcome, password change); and a Premium subscription structure (online payments, in progress).
